I DID IT!!

Well folks, in case some of you haven’t figured it out, I FINISHED THE PACIFIC CREST TRAIL! The WHOLE thing. All two thousand, six hundred and fifty-two miles from the Mexico to Canada. 180 days of being hiker trash, including 24 rest days and 156 days of very challenging hiking.

It’s been a month since I finished the trail and honestly, I don’t yet have the words to adequately share what it felt like to get to the northern terminus of the PCT, or what it feels like now to be home. I’m not sure I ever will have the words, but eventually I am going to try to find them, at the very least because it might help me to do some much needed processing.

At the USA-Canada border with my celebratory champagne!

In the meantime, however, I’m sure you can all imagine that a lot happened between my last post, which described my experience up to July 4th, prior to the midway point of the trail, and finishing the trail three months and two states later. Regardless of whether or not you all want to read about the remaining months of my hike, I am going to take some time over the next few weeks to go through my photos and write a bit about my experiences. Feel free to ignore my upcoming posts, which may seem a lot less interesting now that we all know I'm done the hike and safe and sound at home, but I think taking the time to write more about my hike will help me to reflect and process, plus it's awesome to have some memories down on paper!

Here's hoping that by the time I finish my posts for Northern California, Oregon, and Washington, I will finally have been able to process some of this experience and can share some of my post-trail thoughts with all of you in a coherent way!

Thanks so much to everyone who has been following along and who gave me so much encouragement, good thoughts, and prayers throughout my hike. I couldn't have done it without you!

Bye for now! (And more to come!)
